Univar showcasing unique application development capabilities at Food Ingredients Europe 2011

Brussels, Belgium – November 16, 2011 – – Univar, a leading global chemical distributor, announced today it will demonstrate its wide range of food ingredients and technical product advisory capabilities at Food Ingredients Europe 2011. Univar will be at stand 3C25 at the event in Paris Nord Villepinte, France, from 29th November to 1st December 2011.
In particular, Univar will present three new, uniquely developed products as part of its showcase at this year’s show: pink fizz concentrated beverage syrup, energy bars and the ultimate muffin. Each product has been exclusively developed by Univar’s dedicated technical staff to demonstrate how new functional ingredients can be used to address growing market trends for natural, gluten-free and healthy food products. All three creations feature ingredients that make products low in sugar, fat and sodium and high in protein without affecting their flavour.
With dedicated development kitchens in Benelux, Iberia, Nordics and the UK, Univar helps customers develop solutions to specific recipe challenges, including offering advice on the latest ingredients and food trends, and deploying a variety of specialist technical processes, such as microscope control of starches.
